What Customers Say About Bare-Tool Denali 565103 18-Volt Cordless Flashlight (Tool Only, No Battery):

And yet, Amazon still sells the 18v tools as "bare-tool," with no warning that batteries aren't available. At the very least, a responsible company would tell us if some other battery will fit the tool. The flashlight sure used to work nice back when it had batteries, though. A year after I bought the entire Denali 18v set, the BATTERIES ARE UNAVAILABLE. And the helpful little note from Amazon reads: "not sure if or when this item will be available." Amazon, this is absolutely unforgivable. And, yeah, after a year, the batteries (I have 2) are pretty much shot.

That said, I own several of the Denali tools and have no complaints at all. This light doesn't have any surprising features (like my hammer drill has) but I doubt you could find another 18v rechargable work light for this price. If you need a simple, no-frills, affordable work light, and already own this line's batteries/charger (or plan to), I would recommend this. Works fine. I took it out of its box, slid one of my 18v batteries onto it, and turned it on. I wouldn't recommend it if you just need a light though, since you'd have to get the battery and charger as well -- unless of course, you plan on buying more of this line (which is not a bad idea).Anyway, the light works as a light should. If you already have some Denali 18v tools, this is a great addition. No issues whatsoever. It lacks a gooseneck that some brands have, but the head rotates anywhere from straight-on to straight-up, and if you set the body down at an angle too, you have nearly the same range of lighting angles the goosenecks do.The construction isn't Dewalt-quality, but you had to figure that out from the price.

I up graded the bulb and now it's even better. I have a lot of Denali tools and will buy more. I live in the country so not much light a night. More light and longer battery life.

You get swivel head, spare light bulb (brand-name spare bulb would cost almost this much), great stability on the surface due to low center of gravity (unlike most of the other stand up lights) and strap. Light lasts three hours on a single charge (which is to be expected: 0.6 A bulb on the 1.7 Ah battery).Light was great value at around five bucks for a while, now it is less of a value but still good compared to other lights in the same price range. Funny looking light works great. Just for kicks, light does look like an animal when looked from the side.

it is obviously the cheapest tool of the set, but works good and is nice to run off of the batteries which last forever. what is there to say about a light in a tool kit. (this is just a bare tool) not a bad purchase for the money but nothing special.
